The Alexander Fellows Program
Deep political polarization, declining civic engagement, and diminished trust in democratic institutions threaten American democracy.
The Lamar Alexander Initiative at Peabody College will offer a professional development program for K-12 social studies and civics teachers to address these pressing challenges.
The Initiative aims to empower educators to embrace civil discourse in their classrooms with courage and fortitude. The fellows program will help teachers cultivate evidence-based reasoning and collaborative exploration of historical and current events with their students
